Chris’s new favorite before going to bed, or sitting on the couch thinking line

Well, Chris did for the first time yesterday, anyway. I find this exciting whether the rest of the world thinks it’s TMI.

I finally got around to doing a dump off the digital camera, and posted 30 or so new photos into Chris’s online photo gallery. He’s gotten to be quite active, creeping & crawling away. Hopefully I’ll have some new photos showing his new pastime of climbing on mommy and daddy soon. Enjoy!

As you can see by the orgchart above, I have accepted an offer of employment from Rutgers University Office of Information Technology. I’m working full-time as of 1/26/2005, and will be working on the myRutgers Portal among other projects. You can see me reporting to the “vacant” box in the lower right hand corner.

Although I was tempted by several other offers, the lifestyle and opportunities at Rutgers ended up being too much to resist. I’m quite impressed both with the quality and direction of the Architecture & Engineering group. Having more time to spend with Christian while also working on my Masters degree was a powerful incentive as well. In the end it just feels like the right place to be.

I’ve posted several new pictures of Christian at home, and playing with Lisa’s parents. I have some more of the little guy with my parents and some friends that I’ll post later today.

He’s doing pretty well at home, keeping his mom up with his constant demand for food. The hospital gave us a chart to keep track of his eating and diapers labled “input & output.” Well, he’s taking in quite a bit of output, and also producing quite a bit of… output.

Christian and Lisa made it back from the hospital yesterday So far everything has been pretty good with Chris doing lots of babyish tasks. Eating, sleeping, filling all those pesky empty diapers. He’s been a pretty good baby — though he definitely lets us know when there’s something cold and wet down there.

I’m proud to announce that at 11:06PM Sunday, August 15th 2004 Christian Alexander Shao took his first leap into the world. He was 7 lb. 13 oz, 20.5″ long, and judging by the strong cries he uttered immediately after entering the world, rather cold and wet.

Lisa is currently recovering at St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick, and will likely be there until either Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. Visiting hours are from 1-8PM. Hopefully everyone will be able to meet him soon.
