Georgy for Governor

/. describes her as a “hottie” who uses Linux. Personally I think it sounds eerily like a potential plot for the next “Legally Blonde” movie. Though I solidly support the concept of grassroots political movements, I think that the reality of the world is that it’s very difficult to reach large number of voting people and persuade them as to your intentions and abilities without being percieved as having a solid track record.

Ideals and ideas for the most part are not the problem, it’s the real world implementation that always seems to lag behind. I think there’s a natural tendancy to underestimate the practical difficulties involved in forcing reality into conformance with theoretical ideals, especially among those of us used to working in a medium as easily malleable as computer programming.
