bq. Most of the images on this page are of U.S. propaganda posters used in World War Two to motivate millions of Americans in the successful effort to defeat the Axis Powers in World War Two. Some of these posters are “chilling” in the emotional impact they make. Many of the posters are from War Bond Savings drives. The proceeds from these bond drives were used by the U.S. Government to help finance the war. The remainder of the images on this page are photographs from the Second World War era.

I like looking at old posters, and here’s a collection of a bunch of WWII propaganda posters. It’s interesting to see what a huge emphasis was pushed on material production. I wonder if a lot of modern attitudes towards materialism and consumption may have been nurtured during the economic buildup for war.
