New Years Resolutions

Many people have this year have said that they don’t seem to have New Year’s resolutions. “What’s the point if I’m not going to stick with them?”

Don’t you feel excessively cynical saying something like that? It seems like the value of resolutions isn’t the success in following them, but the commitment to the process of self-improvement that they imply.

Along those lines, I’ve decided to limit myself to the following 3 (commonly broken) resolutions, and not to get discouraged in the event that my compliance is somewhat lacking.

# Develop a habit of exercise, not weight so much as regular healthy routines.
# Stop procrastinating. My actions should match my priorities.
# Pay better, more genuine attention to my wife.

While I can’t say in advance what my success rate on these 3 endeavors is likely to be, if I can improve in any of these categories, I would think it would be a step in the right direction.
