US introduces new security checks – New US security regulations have come into force that will see most foreign visitors having their photographs and fingerprints taken. The rules apply to all those requiring visas to enter the United States.

I wonder how long it will be until police are routinely running fingerprints against this database for evidence from crime scenes. While I have no problem with such a tactic in principle (I think the potential benefits well outweigh the privacy concerns) I wonder if that is done how we can justify not just fingerprinting everyone (since most American crime is commited by Americans).
