The Italian Job 1

All in all, I thought the film Italian Job was great, and definitely satisfying in terms of entertainment value. It’s fast paced, and has enough cleverness and plot twists to keep me happy.

I wasn’t sure what to expect before I saw the Italian Job, but I have to admit that it ended up being far better than the previews had led me to believe. I thought it was shame that the trailers over-emphasized the road chase scenes, and the usage of the Minis (which wasn’t as crazily commercial as I thought it would be) and didn’t emphasize the careful planning, and the clever twists and turns. Though not quite as good in that regard as say The Sting, or The Usual Suspects it had it’s own share of reversals. I know my wife enjoyed it a lot more than she did some of the other films due to it’s faster pace and plot development. I was pleasantly surprised at the chemistry and interaction between Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron.

This is still one of those movies that, the more I think about it, the better it gets. I really thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and it made me go out and get “The Thomas Crowne Affair” and “The Sting” again to enjoy the feeling of thrill and twist.
